What an 8-second AI video clip costs in October 2026

Every AI video app sells credits, and every app counts credits differently. A plan with 20,000 credits is not better than a plan with 1,000 credits. The number that matters is what one clip costs you.

So we did the math. We took three popular video models and asked one question: what does an 8-second clip cost on each app's plan?

How we counted

• One clip is 8 seconds, with audio where the model makes audio.
• Price per clip is the plan price, divided by the plan credits, times the credits that the clip uses.
• We used monthly billing. Most apps are cheaper if you pay for a year.
• We read every price on October 17, 2026. These prices change often, so check them again before you decide.

We compared Sundream with Higgsfield, Runway, OpenArt, Krea and Magnific. Kling sells only its own models, so it is not in these tables.

Seedance 2.5 at 720p

The entry plan is the cheapest plan that can use the model.

Krea does not publish a credit cost for each model. We estimated it from “about N generations” on its Pro plan. Krea does not offer Seedance 2.5 on its $9 Basic plan.

On a plan of about $20, Sundream costs the least for Seedance 2.5 at 720p. We are about 22% cheaper than Higgsfield Starter.

Higgsfield has a temporary discount on Wan 3.0 that brings its clip to about $1.01. That is still more than ours.

Higgsfield has a temporary discount on MiniMax H3 too. With it, a clip costs about $1.13, which is less than ours while the discount lasts.

Where other apps cost less

We want this comparison to be useful, so here is where we lose.

• Big plans. Other apps lower the price of a credit by 30–60% on their biggest plans ($95 to $240 a month). Our price per credit falls by only about 10%. On Seedance 2.5 at 720p, four apps cost less than our Creator plan (see the table below).
• 1080p. We do not offer Seedance 2.5 at 1080p yet. Higgsfield, Runway, OpenArt and Magnific do. On those apps, a 1080p clip costs about $5.40 to $13.
• "Unlimited" offers. Higgsfield, Runway, OpenArt and Magnific sometimes give unlimited use of a model for a limited time. These offers usually come with a slower queue or one clip at a time. A price per clip does not show them.

Things a price table does not show

• Your credits stay. On most of these apps, unused monthly credits disappear at the end of the month. On Sundream, credits do not expire while your plan is active.
• No slow lane. We do not put your clips in a slower queue when you use a lot.
• Fair prices on every model. We price each model from what the provider charges us. No model costs more just because it is popular.

The short version

If you spend about $20 a month, Sundream is the cheapest or close to the cheapest way to make Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0 and MiniMax H3 clips at the resolutions that we offer. If you spend $100 or more a month, or you need 1080p, compare the big plans before you decide.
