Elements

The cast, locations, and props your film reuses from shot to shot.

Elements are the things your film refers to more than once: the people in it, the places it happens, and the objects that matter. Giving each one a reference image is what keeps a character's face, a room's layout, or a product's label consistent across every shot that uses it.

The three kinds

  • Cast — the characters. Each carries a look, a role, and optionally a voice, so dialogue can be spoken in the same voice in every scene.
  • Locations — the places. Describe the empty environment, not the action; the script supplies what happens there.
  • Assets — the props a story needs to keep visually identical, like the hero product in a commercial.

They live on one page because a shot usually needs all three at once — a character, somewhere, holding something.

Working with elements

  • Generate references. Give an element a description and generate its reference image. Generate several and pick the one that's right; the selected one is what shots inherit.
  • Lock what's settled. A locked element stops changing when you regenerate around it.
  • Reuse across films. Characters promoted to your team's Cast library are available in every project, not just this one.

Tips

  • Describe appearance, not story. "Weathered fisherman, sea-bleached hair, patched wool coat" travels into shots; "misses his wife" does not.
  • An element with no reference image still works — the model invents one each time, which is exactly the inconsistency elements exist to prevent.
